Cradle Mountain Honey
Active Manuka
Manuka honey is a special type of mono-floral honey which is produced by bees that gather nectar from the flowers that grow on the Manuka bush (also known as Leptospermum scoparium) which grows in Tasmania, certain parts of Australia and New Zealand. Studies have found that Manuka honey contains very powerful antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. Methylglyoxal is a compound identified as the active ingredient responsible for the antibacterial action of Manuka honey. The higher the Methylglyoxal level, the greater the antibacterial effect it has.
