Australian Honey Products Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated business, with Lindsay Bourke, Managing Director and Yeonsoon Bourke, Director.
Lindsay Bourke, who has lived in Tasmania all his life, began beekeeping in 1966. After a decade and a half of producing honey Lindsay gave beekeeping away to concentrate on other business interests.  In 1999 Lindsay returned to beekeeping and since then has built Australian Honey Products into Tasmania’s largest apiary and the fifth largest in Australia, with an excess of 4,000 hives. Lindsay is a Master Beekeeper who oversees the companies Beekeeping operations and product development.

Yeonsoon Bourke was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Tasmania in 1981. Yeonsoon has been fully involved in all aspects of Australian Honey Products and is responsible for promoting the company’s products to local, national and international markets, including all required export processes. Australian Honey Products exports approximately two thirds of their annual production.

Australian Honey Products Pty Ltd, established in 1898, is a multi-award winning small business of 20 employees operating under three brand names:

  • Cradle Mountain Honey
  • Sheffield Honey Farm and
  • Taverner’s Boutique Brewery

The company operates from both Sheffield and Launceston, moving its hives throughout all of the island state of Tasmania. Located in Sheffield is the Sheffield Honey Farm processing facility where all of the companies honey is extracted using a state of the art facility. This was built in 2015/2016 and contains the most modern and largest extracting facility in Australia.

The Launceston head quarters are located at the Invermay depot, which also holds the Northern Beekeeping crew and their equipment.

Tasmania is renowned for its pristine environment and is the only GMO free state in Australia. The company engages in all facets of the bee keeping industry:
Honey Production – Producing a range of both native and exotic honeys and certified organic honey.

  • Brewed Honey ProductsA range of brewed products including ales, mead and a spiced honey vinegar (Honey Nectar).
  • Pollination ServicesAssisting Tasmania’s $523 Million agricultural export earnings. Over 80 crops pollinated each year.
  • Export of Live Bees At the end of Tasmania’s Honey season live bees are exported to Canada.  AHP is the largest exporter of live bees in Australia.

New and traditional production processes ensure a premium quality product. All the honey is analyzed in our own laboratory for colour, moisture and origin.
